To those who wish to enter our graduate school
In research activities in graduate school, the selection of the research theme (professor) is extremely important. Thus, our division requests that examinees visit a professor from whom they wish to learn and discuss the research field before admission.
Changes to the entrance examination of Nagoya City University, Graduate School of Science
After the 2022 entrance examinations (scheduled in 2021), the entrance examination procedure of the first semester of the master’s program of the Graduate School of Science and the Department of Information and Basic Science will be revised. Please see the PDF file below for detailed information.

campus tours at any time. You may schedule a meeting date by sending an email or calling up the
professor you wish to meet. You can observe actual research activities and become acquainted with the professor’s personality and the laboratory’s atmosphere.

Request for admission requirements
Admission requirements and brochures are obtained at the Entrance Examination Section, Student Affairs (Sakurayama Campus), and Yamanohata Offices.
For mail, you can send a return envelope (33.2 ☓ 24 cm in size) with your name and address written on it and a 215-yen stamp affixed (a 300-yen stamp for a brochure) to the entrance examination section (please see the above). In addition, you need to write down the type of admission requirements (e.g., division name [Biological Science], course [the first semester (master’s)/second semester], and type of applicant (students/office workers/foreigners) in red in the lower left corner on the surface of the envelope.
You should obtain application forms and admission requirements from the entrance examination section (by mail or by coming to the entrance examination section).

Regarding individual interview examinations
In the entrance examination of the first semester of the master’s program, students who have attended the university for more than 3 years are qualified to receive individual interview examinations. Those who graduated from a junior college and are aged 22 years or older are also eligible for such examinations. Please see the admission requirements for detailed information.
